As long as Microsoft keeps the parity clause then it is a sign that they are the same old Microsoft from last year who wanted DRM for second hand games and 24 hour check in.
Leaks suggest Microsoft will be doing what Sony did last year at E3 and have a ton of indies on stage - but don't be fooled! if Microsoft don't reverse their parity clause then they are the same anti-gamer anti-capitalism company.
The unofficial price drops were so they could try and be NPD's best selling console in March but unfortunately it was not enough and was still outsold by the other console.
Howeverr Phil Spencer is saving news of an official price drop for E3 as his big surprise - perhaps $399 or $299 without Kinect? :). I don't know but next month is going to be fun!
I'm glad of the update and the video editor but after five months I expected more features. I look forward to watching 720p streams later. But I want to be able to use my PS3 remote with my PS4 and play movie files, I doubt these take too long to implement. Sony need to keep us better informed.
Good news is E.T. will be the next free title on Games with Gold. What's make's it better than PlayStation Plus is you actually get to keep the game.
As PS4 is the lead platform it means the Bungie team will take advantage of its extra graphical power although Bungie are consummate professionals and you can bet they will deliver the same 'experience' on Xbone.
UNCONFIRMED rumour is that the game was running in less than 1080p on Xbone and Microsoft blocked released because they see such stories as damaging. However they paid for developers to help optimise code to 1080p then gave it the green light.
N4G - News 4 GAMERS. All I'm hearing, all I'm reading about is Xbox TV, TV, TV programmes.
Evidentially Microsoft were apprehensive about releasing details on the E3 stage hence the barrage of TV news blast to get their info out beforehand. I can't wait to watch the Halo TV series but this renewed focus on TV is so disappointing.
The article says "Not even the discovery of Sony lying about its 1080p native resolution was enough to stop gamers from choosing Sony’s side."
This reveals two things; that the author is not knowledgable about console specs because the PS4 does have a 1080p native resolution mode (for God's sake how is unaware if the whole resolution-gate stories about PS4 games nearly always being in native 1080p?)
Also the author is a Microsoft diehard for wri...
Major Nelson in an attempt to prove Microsoft's hardcore gamer credentials has taken a great gaming legend and ruined it. But When the cartridges were excavated did he bury the overstock of Xbones? Hopefully somebody uses Kickstarter to make a documentary to find out.
* Too much Xbone stock produced.
* Stock readily available in retailers is damaging because it damages the perception that it's a sell out.
* Microsoft send Major Nelson to the Mexican desert.
* He claims ownership of Atari cartridges - his real mission is to bury a secret.
* documentary maker launches a Kickstarter to film recovery of 2 million consoles...
Cloud compute + Direct X + secret sauce = the Xbone will rule!
Resolution matters to the hardcore, but after the first year and a bit the mainstream crowd will start buying and at the moment they don't really know about resolution.
Also, you can bet Microsoft will announce a price drop at E3, the only uncertainty is whether they remove Kinect to do it. I suspect Spencer will.
Some secrets should be left buried.
PS4 exclusives will score lower at Polygon.com. Expect the Last of Us Remastered to be called a 'shameless cash in' and get a 6/10 whilst Halo 2 Anniversary they'll say '9/10 a triumphant return to a classic!'
Make Mark Cerny a saint!
This could be the game that Epic put Gears of War on the back burner to work on.
Pachter is always against any Sony product. I remember around E3 last year he was talking about how he was 'blown away' by Kinect on Xbone! I find him entertaining but bias and often wrong. He knows how to read current video game company financial stats well but he doesnt know what will be big in the future and doesn't really know games.
Article doesn't mention anything about PS4 and Xbone resolution. Title is misleading. It is about last gen versions offering the same experience as next gen version.
Exactly this. Open world doesn't automatically mean a good game, and linear a bad game. Some open world games I've played have a big 3D map which you can travel in but offer basic fetch missions that must be completed in sequence - this doesn't mean better. Linear when done right can be amazing as the gameplay and narrative are combined to make (in the case of The Last of Us) an intense but rewarding game. They both can offer great experiences if they play to the strengths of the ...
Games with Gold is coming to the Xbone. I expect the list of initial games to be revealed E3 time. Spencer has made noises suggesting Microsoft won't be trying to include AAA games so a focus on indie games only. The 360 GwG have been largely disappointing for me as the games have been very old or I already received them on PlayStation Plus. When GwG launches on Xbone I hope MS keep it running on 360.
